Last Chance: West End Shows Closing in July 2026 (Book Before They're Gone)
Every summer, London's stages wave goodbye to some unmissable productions — and July 2026 is a big one. From a star-led new play and a feel-good musical to one of theatre's most powerful war stories, a whole run of shows are about to take their final bow.

Equus — closes 4 July (Menier Chocolate Factory)
Peter Shaffer's gripping psychological thriller is first out the door, so this one is properly now or never. A revival of the classic about a psychiatrist drawn into a troubled young patient's world, Equus is taut, unsettling and exactly the kind of intimate, high-intensity drama the Menier does so well. If you've been putting it off, this is your final weekend.
Grace Pervades — closes 11 July (Theatre Royal Haymarket)
A new play set in the glittering, backstage world of Victorian theatre's biggest stars, Grace Pervades has been a highlight of the season at one of the West End's most beautiful houses. A perfect pick for lovers of rich, character-driven storytelling — but only for a couple more weeks.
Kinky Boots The Musical — closes 11 July (London Coliseum)
If you want to go out on a high, this is the one. Harvey Fierstein and Cyndi Lauper's joyful, big-hearted hit — all sequins, soul and sky-high red boots — is bowing out at the magnificent London Coliseum. It's funny, it's moving, and it has one of the best feel-good finales in musical theatre. The ideal last-minute date night or group outing before it's gone.
Glengarry Glen Ross — closes 18 July (The Old Vic)
David Mamet's razor-sharp, fast-talking classic about cut-throat salesmen is a masterclass in tension and one of the great modern plays. The Old Vic is the perfect home for its claustrophobic drama. If you love your theatre with bite, don't let this one slip away.
Sting — closes 18 July (Young Vic)
A bold, atmospheric piece at one of London's most adventurous theatres, Sting rounds out its run on 18 July. The Young Vic has a knack for shows that stay with you, and this limited season is no exception. Worth catching before it disappears.
War Horse — closes 30 July (Olivier Theatre, National Theatre)
Saving one of the biggest for last. The National Theatre's landmark production — with its breathtaking, life-sized horse puppetry — is genuinely one of the most moving things you can see on a London stage. Joey's story has reduced audiences to tears for years, and this run ends on 30 July. If you only book one show this month, make it this one.
Also taking their final bow in July
A few more worth a look before they close, including a summer staging of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream at the gorgeous Regent's Park Open Air Theatre, and the State Ballet of Georgia's Swan Lake at the London Coliseum — perfect if you fancy something a little different on a warm summer evening.
